Meet Michael and Jocelyn Backes, local realtors known as team “Beach City Backes”. What seems to make them different are their sincere qualities and their client first consultative approach. They are consistently told they are friendly, passionate, aggressive, hard-working, honest, easy to communicate with and always willing to go above and beyond for their clients. They offer the refreshing experience of including their clients in the process and truly guiding all parties toward a common goal. They were drawn to real estate with a desire to make a difference in the experience of people buying and selling homes. They say clear communication, honesty, integrity and expectations, sprinkled with a little humor is what leads them to success. Team Beach City Backes focuses their time on listening and catering their approach to the needs of each client and executing on the game plan. Jocelyn and Michael love to “make it happen” for their clients which in turn creates repeat business, referrals and lifelong friendships.

Jocelyn is from Northern California and attended Cal Poly for undergrad and UCLA for grad school. She initially started her career as a Kindergarten Teacher in South LA. Michael is from Seattle and studied Business Management at Washington State University. He is a sports guy who moved down to the SouthBay to play volleyball, surf, and to enjoy the beach lifestyle. Jocelyn and Michael have partnered together and have helped hundreds of clients to buy and sell homes. They have also personally invested and reinvested in real estate in the SouthBay and are considered experts in the area. They have two young children and find themselves meeting new families and helping new clients as well as repeat clients to buy and sell homes in El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Torrance and San Pedro. Their motto is “Love Where You Live” and they immerse themselves with everything the SouthBay has to offer – exercise, surfing, volleyball, hiking, great parks, amazing schools, restaurants, shops, concerts, school events, networking events, charity events, and of course the beach. They also love the proximity to the mountains for weekend trips to ski and snowboard. This “Love Where You Live” attitude is what keeps them so excited about helping others experience the lifestyle of this area. Jocelyn and Michael are always networking and have great relationships in the industry, keeping their buyers on the tip of the market when it comes to new homes on the market or homes coming soon. They have experience working in each city and work hard to understand the uniqueness about each neighborhood. They have a strategic marketing plan for each home they sell to ensure maximum exposure and value for their seller’s homes. Team Beach City Backes is made up of other team members that Michael and Jocelyn trust wholeheartedly which embody the similar approach of working hard, having fun, and doing the right thing for their clients. Partners like loan, escrow, title, design, and service consultants are all part of their network to help support each client. They have personally remodeled homes and have trusted resources whom they recommend. It really does take a village as they say when successfully buying and selling real estate and the saying “birds of a feather flock together” seem to be consistent with the folks they surround themselves with and so they are happy to recommend their favorites.
